Hello yet again. In among The brand new pictures I discovered the house via the rocks (bungah18.jpg). I don't forget this property very well as it had been at the conclusion of my Avenue! New Street, Seahome, TB. Constantly imagined as A child that it must have been applied like a James Bond 'Baddie's' gaff!
I recall Fetties marketplace, Hillside as well as the night marketplaces to the "mad mile" at Tanjong Tokong. Also the Gajah as well as street from Fetties marketplace up the hill to Vale of Tempe, my Young children identified as this road the wobbly highway as it had a great number of twists and turns. Wish to listen to from anybody who can deliver me photos of the area as it can be currently. Lots of thanks, Pam Rackley
Pam Rackley Hello all, I chose to put Yet another Observe here as good friends of mine have just gotten back from the 7 days on Penang and had a great time. They took shots of our old residence and it appears just good.
I went towards the RAAF College, kinds 1 and a couple of. We lived at Jalan Bahaudin and Jln Ahmad Bin Khasa. Went again for just a pay a visit to in 1998 - what A really remarkable trip - looks as if a aspiration now. If any one around the island has durian, they are doing. They resource their durian from all over Malaysia, as a result of an enterprising Singaporean operator with a few serious networking skills.
Nonetheless, by then, British Status and their impression of invincibility ended up seriously dented. Soon after heated community opposition, the Malayan Union was changed via the Federation of Malaya in 1948. The independence of Malaya being a united political entity appeared an inevitable summary.
In between 1967 and 1970 I lived in both of those Tanjong Tokong and at Hillside, Tanjong Bungah. My tackle was 12 Highway 4, Vale of Tempe. I used to be young and With all the Royal Air Power then, and remember my time in Penang as probably the greatest situations of my lifetime. I don't forget Penang as lush and eco-friendly with probably the most lovely white sandy seashores, the town as bustling and remarkable with an excellent searching centre where by 1 could invest in almost anything in any respect. I don't forget In particular the shop "Japanese Picture" exactly where a person could acquire almost any superior tech products that it was probable to purchase!

We invested a great deal of time on the Penang Swimming Club & for the Hostel movie nights. I've a lot of shots of Penang, of our home, the swimming club, the Hostel & a number of other sights of Penang. We experienced a beautiful time & failed to site really want to leave there. We returned to Australia in Dec 1960 by the Dutch ship "The JVO". It delivers back a lot of memories looking through these responses. I am glad I discovered This web site.
From time to time we could see in aggravation that there have been only a couple of RAAF personnel occupying The full bus though community students needed to watch for hours and after that jam-packed whenever we eventually boarded the buses! The outdated Springtide lodge is long gone! Targeted visitors is chaotic; the freshwater stream that led out to the sea is no longer there! By some means, you can in no way "! go dwelling" after the destruction from the natural beauty and peace which was when the epitome of Penang, the "Pearl with the Orient". It's now the chaotic Penang....I hope that someone has the foresight to circumvent the even further erosion in the magic of Penang and my hometown, Tanjong Bungah.
It had been a Terrifying hunting area, the intense looking puppies barked their heads off for those who went in the vicinity of and for some cause I believed the place was Just about mystical. I'm more mature and braver now, so the photographs my new wallpaper!!!
